We're very sorry, but the database is really, really broken. Or at least, the part of it that contains all the posts is broken. To the point where we can't fix it, no, I tried.

So on the new forum, all the old posts will be gone. Yes, this sucks, but it's the only option - if we bring any posts over from this database, we run the risk of corrupting the new database and basically being right back where we started XD. The posts will be the ONLY information that is lost - your post count, fireflies, PMs and everything else will still be there on the new Eden.

Also, this doesn't mean that the posts themselves are lost - just that we can't move them over to the new forum. That does mean that you'll have to re-post your shop, open requests, questions and any other topics that you're not done with yet (like topics in the Artwork forums). The old forum will remain open in read-only mode for at least a few days when the new forum is already open, so that everyone has plenty of time to save any posts that you need.

Even in read-only, the database on the old forum will probably still crash several times a day...just because it's broken like that *laughs*. It shouldn't affect the new forum, though, and we will regular check & repair the old database, so if the old forum is broken, don't worry about, as soon as an admin can, we will fix it again.

On the upside, I'm pretty much done with any coding I need to do for the new forum, so with a bit of luck we can open sooner than the ETA of Saturday ^_^.

1. When will Eden be back up?
• Well, we're hoping to have it up ASAP :) Hopefully we'll have it up by the end of the week.
2. Where/When do I send my money?
• All of that will be in a nice sticky when we go back up, we're not looking for the stuff right now, it's easier for us and everybody to wait until Eden opens again then try and sort everything out as we're moving stuff over to the dedicated server.
3. I can't pay, I live on Mars.
• There will be several payment options such as PayPal & Snail Mail (There's for sure a US send location, with a possibility of 3 more overseas locations). If you have suggestions for Payment Options, feel free to suggest them :)
4. I can't pay, my parents/family situation don't allow it. So I quit :(
   
• Don't quit! There will still be a Free Account type with access to some of the forum you've come to love (or not love), and we will work out a list of people who want subscriptions and those who are kind enough to sponser people can either specify a specific person or somehow we'll assign it to a person on the list. Want more specifics? You'll have to wait for the sticky at Eden, we haven't discussed the waiting list much yet.
5. Cafepress! Cafepress! Rah Rah Rah!
• While Cafepress is a ready made store front, we wouldn't really be making enough money for it to be worth it. So we're looking into alternative methods for T-shirts at least. When we get back up there will probably be a merchandising questionairre :) but pleeeassse, for Ebil's sanity, no more "You can sell merchandise on Cafepress"
6. Will my account/posts/pms/etc. be deleted?
• Nope, nothing, zilch, nada will be deleted, at least not for a good month and the prune filters will be set to cover for this period of down time :)
7. Can I pay/sponsor my friends?
• Yep :) There will be more information about that once Eden's back up and stickied

• Okay, yeah, not really a question, but please don't badger the people who don't wanna pay, that's their decision. We make ours, they make theirs. In the end, we all sleep at night, and that's alllll that matters.
  
9. "Ok so say a person on the list gets sponsored, well a month later they stop visiting. What happens to that sponsorship? No one is using it? Does it go back to sponsor someone else? Or is never used again?"
• Most likely never used again, there's no really good way for us to monitor the situation, we'll give final word when we open again.
